A change of strategy

Later today City play Gravesend & Northfleet (two on one? Surely some mistake?) and I think I will be adjusting my match strategy. Until recently I would always wear my City shirt to home games. I stopped for purely superstitious reasons: the home game when I didn't wear it (Cambridge back in September - I was on the train coming back from the airport) City won 4-0 and played well. Given that we've not been at all consistent at home I've decided to put the shirt back on and see what happens. Of course, if we lose/draw then I'll be taking full responsibility for this and will probably write a long apology for my next article in the programme (in fact, given that it's an FA Trophy game next week, I suspect I'll just write about it anyway, it's not like I'm full of ideas at the moment).

My cold seems to be easing off now, just in time for Uni to start again on Monday... excellent timing. It seems that Kleenex do still do those Aloe Vera tissues as I've got some in front of me right now - they've eased the pain a little. I must remember to keep a stock of them to avoid unnecessary redness. (Don't mock me dammit - a sore nose just adds to the pain of a cold and if I can avoid it I will. Shut it.)

Having just had a quick flick back over the blog I noticed I never did get round to doing part two of my holiday review. Have to do that sometime, not sure when though. With Uni starting again it'll no doubt be a little while. Part one is here. I've still got the pics on my HD, whether I can remember what they're of is another question. I may have to do a caption contest.

Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy has admitted to having a drink problem, it seems because it was going to revealed by ITV. He's refusing to resign despite a significant number of his MPs demanding he does. I'm not sure where I stand on this. On the one hand, he has done a lot to move the Lib Dem's forward, although they didn't win as many seats at the last election as had been predicted. Then again, he does seem to be in trouble now and is perhaps no longer the asset he was. I'm not sure there's anyone in the Party to take over though.

To be honest, I'm not sure that I would count myself as a Lib Dem supporter anymore. They are very pro-European and I'm simply not. (My old rants about the Common Agricultural Policy (and the rebate) might give you a hint as to why.) Also, I'm not as rigidly anti-ID cards as the Lib Dems seem to be. Perhaps I should class myself as a floating voter?

Nick Robinson (BBC) talks about it on his blog here. Kennedy's repeated denials certainly don't help him.

An interesting Leader from the Times on the Kennedy saga.
