Oooo arrr we are Exeterrrrrr

Well I don't mean to be only posting one day a week but it's all I've managed to do recently. Things are unlikely to improve over the next couple of weeks either as I'm off on holiday on Tuesday. Going to the Pyrenees for a couple of days hiking and a week of lazing around and/or drinking. I've just finished my article for the 10th Sept City programme because of this. It was a real struggle to find 600ish words as I'm still feeling uninspired. Also, as the game itself is a couple of weeks away it's difficult to know what to write about. I don't feel comfortable writing about our good start to the season (4 straight wins out of 4!) as things may have changed by that game and I'd feel like it was my fault for mentioning writing about it so far ahead of publication!

Once again the cricket today made fantastic viewing. While at the time I would have much preferred us to have knocked off the 129 runs without much effort, in hindsight, the closeness of the run-chase made for great entertainment. The Ashes series so far has been one of the best ever (or so many of the experts with greater knowledge of the game than me say). Personally, I'm now hoping for a very rainy second week of September in Surrey so that the 5th and final test is washed out and we win the series 2-1. A bit of an anti-climax maybe, but at least the Ashes would have come home!
